During construction, drivers should expect intermittent shoulder closures and temporary intermittent ramp closures along the construction route. Motorists should anticipate delays. Near Laguna. Closure~~~Laguna Pueblo is CLOSED TO ALL NON-RESIDENTS DUE TO COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS and orders issued by Laguna Pueblo.
Near Thoreau. Roadwork~~~Eastbound I-40 is reduced to one lane from mile marker 43-44 (Coolidge) due to roadwork. Eastbound traffic is being diverted onto the westbound median shoulder. Westbound has 2 lanes open. Speed reduced to 55mph through the work zone. All work will be performed weekdays from 7am-6pm. Please drive with caution, reduce speed and obey all posted traffic signs. WATCH FOR SLOW MOVING OR STOPPED TRAFFIC. USE BOTH LANES AND TAKE TURNS MERGING AT CONSTRUCTION ZONE. This event will be updated as conditions change.
