Salt Lake City Road Conditions

Near Kearns. As part of its efforts to keep traffic moving on Bangerter Highway now and into the future, UDOT is building a freeway-style interchange at 6200 South. This is a continuation of UDOT’s multi-year effort to upgrade Bangerter Highway and the east-west arterial roads in order to meet the traffic demands of western Salt Lake County.

Near East Millcreek. The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will improve I-80 between 1300 East and 2300 East and I-215 between 3300 South and 4500 South. The pavement will be replaced with new concrete throughout, and a new lane will be added to eastbound I-80 between 1300 East and 2300 East. Additional improvements will include: • Demolition and reconstruction of the 1300 East and 1700 East bridges over I-80 • Demolition and reconstruction of the I-80 bridge over 2000 East • Widening of the I-80 bridge over 2300 East to accommodate the new eastbound lane • Improvements to existing bike and pedestrian crossings at I-80 This project is being done to replace aging infrastructure, reduce congestion and enhance safety.

Near Buena Vista. Shoulder closures and/or lane closures may occur Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. · Dates and times of construction are subject to change based on weather and equipment availability. · Please travel slowly through the construction zone and follow posted signs.

Near Oquirrh. UDOT is working on a safety improvement project on SR-111 in Salt Lake County. Improvements include removing the railroad overpass bridges at 5500 S. and 7600 S., eliminating choke points and improving shoulders. Drivers can expect work activities Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. with occasional night work. Plan ahead for travel delays, speed limit reductions, lane closures with temporary traffic signals and 12 ft. lane restrictions. Construction is anticipated through late summer 2022.
