Near Newport until Oct 31. Bridge rehabilitation project on E. McMillan Street over U.S. Route 42 (Reading Road). Contractors working for the Ohio Department of Transportation will close a lane on southbound Burnet Avenue under E. McMillan Street daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. while crews continue work on the bridge. Also, one lane remains closed on E. McMillan Street. The entire project calls for replacing pier pylons and lighting, repairing the substructure, replacing abutment bearings, painting structural steel, resurfacing the bridge deck and other preservation items of the McMillan Street bridge. Prus Construction Company was awarded a contract for approximately $1.63 million to complete the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2024. (22-485)
Near Cleves until Jun 9. June 5-9: Crews will be replacing a culvert at the 0.15-mile marker on S.R. 128, immediately north of the route's junction with U.S. 50 and south of the community of Hooven. The closure will be in effect Monday, June 5, through Friday, June 9.
Near Miamitown until Oct 15. Resurface portions of I-74 and I-275. Paving operations on the Interstate 74/I-275 resurfacing project requires an overnight ramp closure tonight. On Friday, June 2, the ramp from Kilby Road to northbound I-275 will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Saturday, June 3. During closure, traffic can use U.S. 50 and S.R. 128 to I-74 or Kilby Road to I-74. The project includes pavement repairs and resurfacing I-74 from the Dry Fork Road interchange to just west of the Hamilton/Cleves Road interchange, as well as I-275, between its junction with I-74 and the Kilby Road interchange. The project also includes minor bridge work at structures on I-74. Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will impart single-lane closures on I-74, and traffic will be maintained in one lane on weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 8 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the following day. Restrictions may also be in effect on Saturdays and Sundays, each night between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. Operations will move to I-275 following pavement repairs and bridge work on I-74, and paving work on either route will likely begin in early June. The John R. Jurgensen Company was awarded a contract for approximately $7.99 million to complete the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed in October of 2023. (#22-517)
Near Ross until Oct 1. As the first phase of a resurfacing project gets under way on state Route 126, pavement repairs and a culvert replacement will require lane restrictions and a closure of the route beginning today, May 1. Throughout the week, contractors working for the Ohio Department of Transportation will impart single-lane closures on S.R. 126 between S.R. 748 and S.R. 128 to conduct pavement repairs in advance of resurfacing. Daily lane restrictions will be in place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work. In addition, a 30-day closure of S.R. 126 will go into effect starting today for a culvert replacement at the 7.66-mile marker, just east of Morgan Ross Road. The closure will be in effect through Friday, June 2, and traffic will be detoured via S.R. 748, S.R. 129, U.S. 27 and S.R. 128. The John R. Jurgensen Company was awarded a contract in the amount of $2.49 million to complete the work, and all work is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2023. (#220597)

Closure of the ramp from Hopple Street to I-75 North between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday. Wednesday and Thursday, May 31 & June 1: Single-lane closure on the I-75 North ramp to I-74 West, and single-lane closure on I-74 West (center through lane), between the I-75 and Beekman Street overpasses, from 8 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the following day. Closure of the ramp from I-74 West to Beekman Street (Exit 18) nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via the Montana Avenue interchange and I-74 East to Beekman Street. Thursday, June 1: Single-lane closure on I-74 East, from Montana Avenue to I-75 South, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Friday, June 2. Friday, June 2: Single-lane closure on I-74 East and West, between Montana Avenue and I-75 South, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday, June 3. Single-lane closure on I-75 North, from Hopple Street to I-74 West, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Saturday. Closure of the ramp from Hopple Street to I075 North between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Saturday. The total project will reconfigure the I-75 South connection to I-74 East and perform additional improvements to the eastbound I-74 connections to I-75. During the initial phase of construction roadway, drainage and lighting improvements will be made on Borden Place, Powers Street, King Place, Elmore Street and Prang Street adjacent to I-74. As part of this phase of construction, the following changes will be implemented: Borden Pl. will be converted to a cul-de-sac. Powers St. will be eliminated between Borden Pl. and King Pl. The intersection of Powers St. and King Pl. will be reconfigured. Powers St. will be extended to tie into Colerain Ave. Prang St. will be relocated to the east. The Great Lakes Construction Company was awarded the $85 million contract, and all work is scheduled to be complete by late summer 2025. (203000)
Near Ludlow until Sep 30. I-75 Resurfacing - Following a winter hiatus, operations will resume this week for a resurfacing project on Interstate 75 between the Brent Spence Bridge approach and the Western Hills Viaduct. On Wednesday and Thursday, May 24 and 25, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be paving I-75 South between the viaduct and the bridge during the late evening and overnight hours. Single-lane closures will be in effect beginning at 8 p.m. each night, followed by a double-lane closure at 9 p.m. and a triple-lane closure at 11 p.m., with all restrictions lifted by 6 a.m. the following day. Then beginning Tuesday, May 30, and continuing through Friday, June 2, crews will be paving the high-speed shoulder and high-speed lane of I-75 North. Single-lane closures will be in effect in the two-lane section between the bridge and Harrison Avenue from 8 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the following day. Barrett Paving Materials, Inc., was awarded the $8.6 million project, and all work is scheduled to be completed by late summer.
Near Delhi Hills until Oct 31. The Cincinnati Department of Transportation & Engineering (DOTE) has begun a $5 million street rehabilitation project extending nearly four miles along River Road/U.S. 50 between Anderson Ferry Road in Delhi to Dart Street in Sayler Park. Crews this week are on site marking locations that need full-depth base repairs. Excavation is expected to begin next week. Crews will work in the opposite travel lanes as rush hour traffic ¿ heading westbound away from Downtown before 9 a.m. and eastbound after 9 a.m. All work will wrap up by 4 p.m. daily. Through traffic will continue to be allowed during the eight-month project, though motorists should expect intermittent delays, depending on the work being performed. Message boards are posted at both ends of the work zone to alert motorists of upcoming construction activity. Motorists are asked to slow down and pass through the area with caution. The project is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 31. The contractor is Cincinnati-based John R. Jurgensen Co. The $5 million project is funded with a combination of city capital and a Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) transportation infrastructure grant.
