Near Florence. Work Zone Construction Activities. I-75 NC. U.S. 42 Bridge (13.9 mile-marker) over I-71/75 (180 mile-marker) ? A project is in progress that will add a new westbound lane and pedestrian sidewalk will begin. A project is in progress that will add a new westbound lane and pedestrian sidewalk will begin. The traffic pattern for the first phase of work has been set One lane in each direction on I-71/75 is closed within the project area, specifically: The far left lane of travel on I-71/75 northbound is closed for approximately one-quarter mile at the US 42 interchange, and The far-right lane of travel on I-71/75 southbound is closed for approximately one-quarter mile at the US 42 interchange. In addition, both shoulders in both directions are closed within the project area. Also, traffic on US 42 westbound is shifted to the north while crews work on widening the south side of the roadway. No permanent lane closures on US 42 are anticipated while this work takes place. This travel pattern is expected to remain in place through late August. Motorists should watch for lane closures, crews, and equipment in the work zone.

Near Taylor Mill. Work Zone Construction Activities. HANDS PIKE. Expect blocked lanes and stopped traffic. Watch for flaggers.
Near Highland Heights. Work Zone Construction Activities. I-275. Duke Energy has scheduled a project for Monday, Jan. 24 ? Thursday, Jan. 27 that will require rolling roadblocks so that they can install new utility wires across I-275. The location is near KY 8 (Mary Ingles Highway) and the Combs Hehl Bridge. Law enforcement will assist with traffic control during the hours of 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists should expect short delays. Work is weather dependent. January 24th, Monday night ? Tuesday morning: Highway crossing January 25th, Tuesday night ? Wednesday morning: Highway crossing January 26th, Wednesday night ? Thursday morning: Back-up night.

Phase 5A of the Mill Creek Expressway project, which includes adding a lane on I-75 South, providing four-lane continuity on I-75 North and reconfiguring the I-74 East ramps to I-75, is scheduled to be completed on (or before) August 30, 2022. Near Mack until Jun 30. Replace and repair three culverts on state Route 264 (Bridgetown Road) in Hamilton County. Crews will be rehabilitating two structures located between Cleves and El Vista Drive and near Moonridge Drive, respectively, and although a start date for work at either site has yet to be outlined, it is anticipated that construction will begin in early spring of next year. Prus Construction Company was awarded a contract for approximately $163,187 to rehab all three culverts, and all work is scheduled for completion in late summer of 2022.
Near Dent until Sep 30. Districtwide bridge maintenance project on Interstate 275 at the Thompson Road overpass. Complete General Construction Co. was awarded a contract for approximately $2.27 million to complete the project, and work on all affected structures elsewhere in the district is scheduled to be completed by late summer 2022. 124(21)
Near Newport until Sep 2. Districtwide bridge repair project. The project includes rehabilitating the bridges over Eggleston Avenue and Culvert Street by repairing the substructure, painting steel girders and replacing expansion joints. The Eagle Bridge Company was awarded a contract for approximately $2.27 million to complete the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed by early summer of 2022.
Near Covington until Mar 31. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises the John A. Roebling Bridge was closed to vehicular traffic Monday, Feb. 15, for a restoration project to preserve the 154 year-old historic landmark. The bridge was closed in April 2019 as a safety precaution after sandstone fragments broke from the east side of the north tower. Temporary netting was installed, and the bridge was re-opened in August 2019. KYTC and representatives of the State Historic Preservation Office have been working to develop a project that will address several issues and help preserve and protect the structure for future generations. The $4.7 million project was awarded to Lithko Restoration Technologies, LLC. The project includes masonry work and the repair and replacement of sections of sandstone on the north and south anchorages and towers. Other work includes minor deck and sidewalk repair. Special traffic signals will be installed to allow for a single lane of traffic, enabling crews to prepare for the full closure that begins Feb. 15. The bridge is scheduled to reopen to traffic by late spring 2022. The Roebling Bridge carries approximately 8,100 vehicles a day. Motorists may use the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge (US 25) or the 4th Street/Veterans Bridge (KY 8) to the Taylor Southgate Bridge (US 27) as a detour. Call the KYTC at 859-341-2700 with any questions.
Near Bellevue until Apr 15. Bridge rehabilitation project on eastbound U.S. 50 (Columbia Parkway) at Martin Drive. This project includes replacing the wearing surface with a deck overlay, replacing expansion joints, installing vandal protection fence and painting structural steel. The project also calls for substructure repairs and drainage and erosion control improvements on the hillside under the relief bridge. Complete General Construction was awarded a contract for approximately $1.82 million to repair the structures, and all work is scheduled to be completed in spring 2022. 596(20)
