Near Newport until Jun 1, 2024. Rehab. the bridge E. McMillan St. (C.R. 605) over U.S. 42 in the city of Cincinnati. As part of a bridge rehabilitation project, lane restrictions will be in place on E. McMillan Street at the bridge over U.S. Route 42 (Reading Road) in Cincinnati. During the first phase of the project, traffic on E. McMillan will be maintained in three lanes, and additional lane restrictions will be in effect on Reading Road and Burnet Avenue at the overpass, with single-lane closures on northbound Reading and southbound Burnet daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The entire project calls for replacing pier pylons and lighting, repairing the substructure, replacing abutment bearings, painting structural steel, resurfacing the bridge deck and other preservation items. Prus Construction Company was awarded a contract for approximately $1.63 million to complete the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2024. (22-485)

Near Kings Mills until Mar 29. WCEO - Lebanon, Ohio ¿ Deerfield Township, Warren County, Ohio ¿ King Avenue, between Miami Street and the Peter¿s Cartridge Factory Apartments/Cartridge Brewing entrance, will have intermittent daytime road closures to through traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., beginning Wednesday, March 15 for approximately two (2) weeks, weather permitting. The closure is necessary for the new bridge steel superstructure delivery and erection north of the Little Miami River in connection with the King Avenue Bridge Replacement Project. Access to the Peter¿s Cartridge Factory Apartments and to Cartridge Brewing will be maintained at all times from Grandin Road. The detour for the closure will utilize Columbia Road, Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road, S.R. 48, and Grandin Road.

Near Mulberry until Jun 30. Construction of a continuous flow lane and bridge rehabilitation at the I-275/S.R. 28 interchange. In addition to constructing a continuous flow lane from S.R. 28 to I-275, other work on includes rehabilitating the bridge by overlaying the deck, replacing the barrier, and replacing the vandal protection fence. Eagle Bridge Company was awarded the $3.9 million contract, and all work is scheduled to be completed in early summer of 2023. (#220041)

Near Landen until Jun 30. Changes will soon be coming to signals on the U.S. Route 22 (Montgomery Road) in Hamilton and Warren counties, as construction gets under way beginning next week for an intersection improvement project to enhance safety and traffic flow along the corridor. Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be installing detection equipment and implementing signal enhancements to install flashing yellow arrow heads on U.S. Route 22/Montgomery Road, from the signal at the eastbound I-275 interchange ramp to the one at the Landen Drive intersection. The flashing yellow arrows replace the traditional green ball for left-turn movements, allowing drivers to turn left with a flashing yellow arrow only when there is no oncoming traffic and crosswalks are clear of pedestrians and bicyclists. By providing more turning opportunities and keeping traffic moving, the flashing yellow arrow has been proven to reduce left-turn crashes and minimize travel delays. Construction on the signals will begin Monday, March 20, at the I-275 and Hertz Drive signal, and crews will progress eastward along the route through the spring and early summer. The existing signals will continue to operate in standard fashion, and although there should be minor impacts to motorists, traffic will be maintained with the use of flaggers as needed during crews' work hours. In addition to the signal work on Montgomery Road, the contractor will be upgrading signals on state Route 125, between May Street and Woodlands Drive in Clermont County, and installing ramp meter signals at the I-75 North entrance ramp from Mitchell Avenue. Complete General Construction was awarded a contract for approximately $1.24 million to complete the upgrade, and all work is scheduled for completion in late summer of 2023.

Near Sixteen Mile Stand until Jun 1. Fields-Ertel Road interchange expansion project at Mason-Montgomery Road and southbound Interstate 71 in Warren County. The new ramp from Mason-Montgomery Road to southbound I-71 is open to traffic. Along with a new bridge over Fields-Ertel, the total project includes construction of an entrance ramp from Mason-Montgomery Road to I-71 South; a new southbound turn lane on Mason-Montgomery from Escort Drive to the ramp; and an entrance taper on I-71 South, between the Fields-Ertel Road bridge and the existing ramp from Fields-Ertel. The Eagle Bridge Company was awarded a contract for approximately $4.7 million to undertake the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed by late spring of 2023. (#21-301)

Near Fairfax until Jun 1. Bridge rehabilitation project along U.S. Route 50 (Columbia Parkway). A daily ramp closure is in place on U.S. 50 (Columbia Parkway) at Eastern Avenue as part of an ongoing bridge rehabilitation project. The ramp from U.S. 50 West to Eastern Avenue is closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, March 3, while contractors working for the Ohio Department of Transportation remove the existing deck on the eastbound U.S. 50 bridge over the ramp. During periods of closure, traffic will be detoured via Wooster Pike, Beechmont Circle, Wilmer Avenue and U.S. 52 (Kellogg Avenue). Also, short-term full closures will be in place on U.S. 50 West between the Beechmont Avenue/S.R.125 exit and the U.S. 50 on-ramp from Eastern Avenue between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following day on Sunday night, February 19 and Monday night, February 20. Traffic will be maintained with law enforcement officers. The entire project calls for rehabilitating two bridges located on Columbia Parkway, one over Heekin Avenue and one over the westbound ramp to Eastern Avenue, with full deck replacements, substructure repairs, structural steel painting, lighting, approach work, guardrail and railing. Triton Construction, Inc. was awarded a contract for approximately $6.7 million to complete the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed in summer of 2023. (#22-143)

Near Hamilton until Sep 1, 2025. Phase 5B of the I-75/I-74 Mill Creek Expressway. Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, March 13, King Place will be closed at Powers Street in the city of Cincinnati for MSE wall construction along I-74. The closure will be in effect through 5 p.m. Monday, March 20, and while the street is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of Hoffner Street and Colerain Avenue. The total project will reconfigure the I-75 South connection to I-74 East and perform additional improvements to the eastbound I-74 connections to I-75. During the initial phase of construction roadway, drainage and lighting improvements will be made on Borden Place, Powers Street, King Place, Elmore Street and Prang Street adjacent to I-74. As part of this phase of construction, the following changes will be implemented: Borden Pl. will be converted to a cul-de-sac. Powers St. will be eliminated between Borden Pl. and King Pl. The intersection of Powers St. and King Pl. will be reconfigured. Powers St. will be extended to tie into Colerain Ave. Prang St. will be relocated to the east. The Great Lakes Construction Company was awarded the $85 million contract, and all work is scheduled to be complete by late summer 2025. (203000)

Near Wetherington until May 31. Butler County Engineers Office - reconfigure the interchange of S.R. 129 at Liberty Way and I-75. While construction continues into 2023, the interchange modification is fully operational. Eastbound S.R. 129 traffic will use the Cincinnati-Dayton Road exit or the Cox Road roundabout to access Liberty Way, and the S.R. 129 exit to Liberty Way is permanently closed. Existing ramp connections will also be reconfigured along with the construction of a new bridge. Additional ramp paving has been included in this project. Sunesis Construction was awarded the contract for $24,516,510 to perform the S.R. 129/Liberty Way/I-75 Interchange Modification project. The project is tentatively scheduled to be completed in May 2023.

Near The Village of Indian Hill until Aug 31. I-275 Resurfacing and SmartLane project. As part of the resurfacing and SmartLane project, contractors will be repairing pavement and resurfacing I-275 in both directions between U.S. 42 and the Loveland-Madeira Road interchange, widening the median shoulders between I-71 and Loveland-Madeira Road, and installing dynamic message boards and a variable speed limit for a SmartLane on westbound I-275. The John R. Jurgensen Company was awarded a contract for approximately $22 million to complete the I-275 project, and all work is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2023. (#213003)

Near Montgomery until Oct 31. Bridge rehabilitation of Cooper Road and Snider Road over Interstate 71. A pair of bridge rehabilitation projects over Interstate 71 in Hamilton County is scheduled to begin in the coming weeks, with construction to start on Cooper Road in Montgomery. Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be repairing the overpass structures on Cooper and Snider roads by replacing the concrete parapets and vandal fencing and conducting other, minor bridge work. Beginning Wednesday, March 1, Cooper Road will be closed for up to 70 days, and motorists will be detoured by way of Montgomery Road, S.R. 126/Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway or Pfeiffer Road and Kenwood Road. The closure and detour have been coordinated with the cities of Blue Ash and Montgomery, as well as Sycamore Community Schools in order to accommodate construction at Sycamore Junior High School during the summer months. Pedestrians and bikes can cross I-71 using the Zig Zag Road bridge, located 0.9 miles north of Cooper Road. In addition to the Cooper Road bridge, crews will be rehabilitating the overpass on Snider Road, north of the I-71/I-275 interchange. Snider Road will also be subject to closure; however, a date to close the route has yet to be determined. The Eagle Bridge Company was awarded a contract for approximately $3.5 million to rehabilitate both bridges, and all work is scheduled to be completed in late October. (#22-606)
